can't edit messages, input forms with basic auth dialog open

Details
Open a site that requires basic auth, and leave the user/pass dialog open.
Switching to compose a message, I can't see the user or subject as i type them;
they usually show up about a minute later, or if I switch out and back to that
compose window. Same deal with input forms, text doesn't show up if a basic
auth dialog is open.

WFM with 2002110108/trunk/win2k.
reporter (joe): can you reproduce this bug with a recent build of mozilla (for
example, 1.2beta)? if so, please comment again with details including your build
ID. if not, please resolve this bug as WORKSFORME. thanks.
