Would this be possible after the AVIF prototype (bug 1625363) switched to dav1d?
Consider removing the --disable-av1 build flag as well. (bug 1634994)
Can bug 1505333 and bug 1436511 be closed?

Thanks for filing this. I've been meaning to do so, but hadn't gotten around to it.
As far as I know it should be possible once the AVIF code is switched to dav1d.

I believe Chrome supports AV1 for WebRTC and if we want to that would be a reason to keep AOM around.

May be needed for AV1 encoding of webrtc traffic.
