Steps to reproduce:
Installed version 68.8.0 Dutch version by exe from internet. Replaced previous version.
Actual results:
Issues:
- Menu Lightning is in English
- Add-ons site cannot be reached
- Pictures are sometimes not shown in mail
- Mail have overlap in text and/or pictures.
Expected results:
- Dutch entry instead of "Events and Tasks"; the choices are also English. The rest is Dutch;
- When I look for an add-on; Thunderbird reports a failed secured connection.
- Only a blank rectangle is shown.
- Text overwritten by coloured shapes.

In 68 lightning is still an add-on and localization situation can be unclear (maybe you installed the English version, or it wasn't localized for your language).
The other issues you mention, no idea. Certainly not the general case. If you still see them in Thunderbird 78, file a specific bug for each issue.
