Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.1b) Gecko/20020820 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.1b) Gecko/20020820 Just installed 20020820 in XP. After install everything works fine. After I logoff my user in XP and log back in, quicklaunch starts up in the system tray. After about half a second of 100% cpu utilization quicklaunch disappears (no crash or otherwise visible error) and then it starts itself again. This leads to a rather annoying situation where closing quicklaunch is impossible, and quicklaunch consumes ungodly amounts of resources. I attempted to kill the process in windows task manager, but its short lifespan prevented me from highliting, clicking end process, and confirming it before it died itself. Additionally right-clicking and exiting quicklaunch is beyond my mousing abilities. The only way I am able to get out of it is by going into control panel and opening up add/remove programs (not to remove mozilla, but to compete to consume more system resources so mozilla doesn't crash as fast) and then right click on the quick launcher, chose exit, then confirm the dialogue. This reoccours whenever I log onto the XP system. It does not occour when I rejoin after doing a user switch. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install 20020802 on windows XP home edition 2. Enable quick launch during the install 3. Log off your windows xp user 4. Log back in Actual Results: The quicklauncher dies and restarts itself very rapidly, consuming all available resources without displaying any crash messages. Expected Results: The quicklauncher should have started normally. No crashes, no logs.
Confirmed using 2002082008 trunk on Windows 2000 Talkback report: Various (but lost them!)
