!!CATASTROPHIC!! Creating a new mailing list will change contact data (it means DATA LOSS!)

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/81.0.4044.138 Safari/537.36
Steps to reproduce:
- open thunderbird
- open address book
- create a new address book
3.1 click file > new > address book
3.2 give name 'ab1' to the new address book and click OK - create two new contacts in the new address book
4.1 select ab1 on the left side
4.2 click 'new contact' in the toolbar
4.3 write f1 in the 'first name' text box, write s1 in the 'surname' text box and click OK
4.4 do the same using f2 and s2 for the second contact - now you see two rows on the right side: first row displays f1 s1 (as thunderbird use the combination 'first name + surname' as the default value for the 'displayed name' field) and the second row displays f2 s2
- create a new empty mailing list in the new address book
6.1 click 'new mailing list' in the toolbar
6.2 write l1 in the 'list name' text box and click OK - now you see the empty mailing list (l1 is selected on the left side)
- select ab1 on the left side
Actual results:
On the right side, you can't see 'f1 s1' contact any more, but, in place of it, you see a new contact named 'l1'. If doubleclick on the new 'l1' contact, you will find that it is the old 'f1 s1' contact but Thunderbird has changed both the old values of 'surname' and 'displayed name' text boxes with the value 'l1', i.e. the name of the new mailing list
Expected results:
On the right side, I should see the old contact 'f1 s1' and there should have been absolutely no contact data changes
Other related bugs:
-
if you create a new empty list named 'l2', you will find that also the contact 'f2 s2' has been changed (both the old values of the 'surname' and 'displayed name' text boxes were changed in 'l2')
-
if you try to restore the old contact data, it works, but then, if you delete the new mailing list, Thunderbird will change again the data of a contact with the name of the deleted mailing list

I can't reproduce this. But I do know the list of contacts is a bit flaky in 68 and might not be displaying what it thinks it is displaying. When you update to Thunderbird 78, please report whether or not this still occurs.
