Remove the Apple java plugin (2 files) from /Library/Internet Plug-Ins and
re-test. I think you will find that it is actually the Apple plugin which is
crashing in this situation.

Thanks Brian! Yes, I removed the 2 files "Java Applet Plugin Enabler"
and "Java Applet.plugin" from /Library/Internet Plug-In
the errors no longer existed in the java console.log

Yes. Obviously this is not a good solution. I was just trying to point out that
Apples plug-in does not respond appropriately to "about:plugins".

For the long term, we either need to get Apple to fix their plug-in, or try to
figure out what is wrong with it and come up with a workaround.
