[Windows] The string from the OS auth displayed when trying to create a Master Password is not updated

  • Nightly 78.0a1;

[Affected Platforms]:

  • Windows 10 x64;

[Prerequisites]:

  • Have an OS password set.
  • Have at least one login saved.

[Steps to reproduce]:

  1. Open the latest Nightly Firefox browser.
  2. Navigate to the "about:preferences#privacy" page.
  3. Check the "Use a master password" option.
  4. Observe the Firefox string from the displayed OS auth dialog.

[Expected result]:

  • The string is updated and matches with the ones displayed when trying to show/copy/edit a password from about:logins.

[Actual result]:

  • The "Verify your identity to create a Master Password" string is displayed.

[Notes]:

  • Attached a screen recording with the issue.

I have verified this issue and the string is correctly updated on the latest Nightly 78.0a1 build (Build ID: 20200513094918). Tested on Windows 10 x64, Windows 8.1 x32 and Windows 7 x64.

Status: RESOLVED → VERIFIED

The patch landed in nightly and beta is affected.
:jaws, is this bug important enough to require an uplift?
