When entering a new bug, if a Component is not specified, and Bugzilla announces
that (paraphrasing) "...a Component must be selected...use BACK...," when the
BACK button is chosen, the previously entered Description is wiped and must be
re-entered. (ouch)

This works for me.
Bugzilla doesnt' have anything to do with saving/restoring form fields - your
browser should be doing that. What browser are you using?

I am using a Mozilla nightly build, 2002081804. I may have been using 2002082004
at the time of the difficulty earlier today.
I have just repeated the steps for this bug twice and the same phenomenon
occurs. I am using Mozilla nightly build 2002081804.
The Summary I entered is retained as is the Version, but the Description is
lost. If the problem were Moz (or any browser), I assume all fields would be
lost, but this is not the case.
Re-opening bug for further review & comments.

This isn't a Bugzilla bug. Moving to Browser.
probably a dupe I'm sure.
Unable to reproduce this on OS X CFM 2002071608 FWIW.
No clue what component this goes in, sending to Browser-General for now

Mats, thank you for your kind suggestions. After having found no duplicates
based on what I believed the problem to be, I submitted the bug. The bug has now
morphed into something different from what I had imagined.
I do agree, however, that the problem must be in the browser. I am able to
successfully maintain the said bug Description when using the back button on
Netscape 7.0 PR1 and IE 6.0. Again, this is all in WinME.
Thanks to all, and apologies for any spam.
