Steps to reproduce:
i run tbird every day, it is critical to my work. today i got a msg that i was using an older copy blah blah. i allowed an update to take place. the update is 68.8.0 (64-bit).
Actual results:
the only problem now is that my profile folder which is on my D drive is gone! i put it on the D drive for safety! i mean it is completely gone and tbird wants me to set up as if i am a noobie.
Expected results:
my profile folder should not have been deleted by tbird. OMG! everything is gone!
i'm attaching a copy of the profiles.ini file from the appdata\roaming\thunderbird folder.

i used the "everything" search software to find occurances of *.msf files in order to see if my profile was somewhere on the d: drive. i found the entire correct "Profiles" folder located within a parent folder at the same level of the original parent. so even though i have solved my problem in recovering a correct profile folder, the cause of why it was moved is still outstanding.

Seems your problem was resolved. I don't think we'll get to the bottom of the cause for this, so closing.
