Details

Text typed into the URL line at the top of the browser window should populate
the search engine query at the URL pulldown.

action: type a search term in the URL line, pulldown to select search engine
query (ie, google search) using these words
expected result: search "<search terms>"

actual result: pulldown shows 'search "<url of current page>" ' and will send
that to the search site, leading to an unsuccessful search.

build 2002082008, win98
Summary: test typed in URL line isn't put in default search choice in pulldown → text typed in URL line isn't put in default search choice in pulldown
further detail: Once ANY text is typed in the URL field, it stays there, even
if the page URL changes. So the URL field stops getting updated, even if a
previous URL is selected via the pulldown.
wfm on win2k/trunk 20021015... could you please try a newer build, and make sure
that you install the build in a clean directory (don't install one version of
mozilla on top of another version). In addition, do you have any third-party
themes/skins/addons installed?

Reporter: Can you reproduce this bug with a recent build of Mozilla (for
example, 1.4rc3)?

If so, then please comment again with details.
If not, then please resolve this bug as WORKSFORME. Thanks.
Haven't seen this recently, so I guess it was fixed along the way.

Marking WFM.
