Leif recently put together a very nice dashboard for the "send tab" feature, based on metrics from the sync ping:

This dashboard suggests that sending tabs only has about a 40% success rate, but on digging in to the details, we found a number of reasons to believe that it's not telling the whole story.

Notes from our investigation are being kept in this moco-confidential google doc, and this is a meta-bug for tracking the collection of improvements we want to make in Firefox in order to improve the robustness and completeness of these metrics.
