We seem to be able to paint at 60fps but still scrolling feels bad.

Looks like the link doesn't work anymore.

Could you check if this still reproduces? I suspect the page has changed, It doesn't look particularly complicated and renderers/scrolls quite fast for me.

Not super slow, but paints constantly and seems like more GPU time than would be expected, looking at the content.
