Steps to reproduce:

Right clicked on tab and selected "Duplicate tab"

Actual results:

The tab that opened had a different url than the one i duplicated.

Expected results:

The new tab should have loaded the same url as the duplicated one.

This happened more than once (as in not only today/this session), but doesn't happen always.

I'm also getting this issue, I'm on MacOS 10.14.6 with Firefox version 76.0.1 (64-bit).

From what I've seen this issue happens when a tab is initially opened via the search bar in some way.
This can either be caused by searching for something, manually entering a url, or pasting in a url from somewhere else.

This issue does not happen for me if I open a page in any way that does not involve the search bar, i.e. opening a
bookmark or navigating from a url from outside the browser.

So my simple steps to reproduce are:

1. Open a new tab
2. Search for "test" using the search bar
3. Search for "another test" using the search bar (or click a link on the page, either works)
4. Duplicate the tab (either by right clicking or by pressing option and dragging)
5. The tab will seem to have the correct url filled in the url bar initially, but after loading a bit will navigate instead to
   the first page that was opened in that tab

From the above I'm guessing some state about what was first entered into the search bar is copied over when the tab is duplicated.
Maybe there's a race condition or something out of order that happens when a page is loaded for the first time and this search
state is used incorrectly?

I have "Restore previous session" set to on. I've also noticed that sometimes when i select a tab to restore, one of the previous URLs are loaded instead of the one that was opened when i closed Firefox the last time. For example in that screenshot below the YouTube tab was last opened and the text of the not yet loaded tab was YouTube. When i clicked it the tab activated and loaded instead Google translator.
