In his case, there is a new version of the installed extension but the update cannot be checked. The console reports an error: Certificate issuer is not built-in.
He installed an extension that was not published in amo. Check the certificate of the extension host URL and find that it is an eset certificate. As with the abnormal access to the website, he need to turn off the ssl scanning in the antivirus software.
In this case, we lack the prompt to the user, for example, the user sets the automatic update, but obviously this case is invalid. Even if it is updated manually, the user does not know what happened.
