Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_13_6) AppleWebKit/605.1.15 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/13.1.1 Safari/605.1.15

Steps to reproduce:

Since last update macOS HighSierra 13.1.1 may 27th https://support.apple.com/fr-fr/HT201222 Firefox won't open, I removed it and re-install it, still won't open, same with chrome, only safari works.

Actual results:

Firefox won't open

Expected results:

Firefox open

Not a security-sensitive bug.

Can you elaborate on "won't open"? Do any errors appear in the system log (accessible through Console.app) if you try to open Firefox? Any visual notification of something that is not working? Or does the dock icon just keep going up and down without a window appearing? Or do you see a crashreporter window? Or something else?

Bugbug thinks this bug should belong to this component, but please revert this change in case of error.

I get a Mac popup saying

"Firefox cannot open due to a problem.

Check with the developer that Firefox works with this version of macOS. You may need to reinstall the app. Make sure you install all the updates available for the application and for macOS.

:haik, do you know what'd cause that?

This means that something or someone caused the code signature on this file to become invalid. Although rare, there are various ways that this could occur. Could you download Firefox one more time from here and see if this fixes it? https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/

This shouldn't be marked as security bug. However, I can't clear the flag. Ryan, can you?
