On some site, there are high cpu usage (>97%). The usage does not drop until some tab is closed. There were multi-tabs. No really easily reproduceble.
I ltraced it for a while. 3MB log file. Attached the top 1000 lines.

I am working on zh_CN locale. Don't know if that matters. Debian sid system.
Which Mozilla build are you using? Please provide URL(s) where this problem occurs, thanks.
It's one a nightly ID 2002082122. I don't think I can have it reproduced at will. :) So cannot give url for now.
Have you reproduced this on a recent mozilla build ?
This seems to be caused by loading several pages with scrolling text or a page with several scrolling text. The scrolling text keep mozilla eat a lot of CPU (the timer thing?) Now I don't know if this really qualify as a bug or is just the DHTML effeciency thing.

It's hard to tell without a testcase or url that shows the problem.... As in, could you actually provide one? "scrolling text" doesn't say much, since there are so many ways to do it....
Since over 1 month no answer from the reporter, so closing bug as invalid. If the bug exists in newer builds (1.4 final) then look for a similar bug or reopen this bug.
