Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/83.0.4103.75 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce:

  1. upgrade from TB 68 to 77beta

Actual results:

MS Exchange server configured in TB68 is no longer accessible via IMAP protocol. Removing account and and setting it back did not succeed. Manual settings which works fine in TB68 give "Unable to log in at server. Probably wrong configuration, username or password" error

Expected results:

IMAP protocol works with MS Exchange server

duplicate?

Component: Untriaged → Account Manager

I would guess this is probably related to Bug 1528136.

Still see this with 78 beta4? And what manual settings?

I have found the solution. Exchange server I use gets only TLS 1.1 nothing more. This was the problem, when minimal tls version was reduced in "extended settings" data transfer started.

Thanks for the update.

Magnus, this has been a long term problem with SSL/ TLS versions and represents a reasonable cause of suppose issues. Is there anything we can we do to make these failures more than an annotation in the error log along with loads of other general javascript errors? Simply silently failing as apparently occurs now is not really an acceptable result from the user perspective.

We could probably handle it almost the same way as bug 1590474, once we figure out that one.
