1642981 - using backspace to remove website data closes the modal window

Steps to reproduce:

1. Go to Preferences -> Privacy & Security -> Cookies and Site Data -> Manage Data...
2. select a domain from the list
3. press backspace

Actual results:

either:

1. closes the modal window
2. keeps modal window open and navigates back to General Preferences

Expected results:

remove domain from list

As per the initial report the STR as pretty accurate with a few additional mentions:

The exact behaviour can be observed on Win10, as the domain is not removed from the list even tho it's selected and you navigate back to about:preferences#home

On macOS 10.15.5 there are 2 additional issues with some additional steps:

• holding the backspace key pressed keeps removing domains up until a point at which you navigate back and the modal closes;
• (for me) removal via backspace of multiple domains, on the 2nd/3rd key-press the modal closes and page is navigated back to about:newtab

Updating fields as well for the bug, at first glimpse issue appears to reproduce on older builds as well such as 60.0.

This issues is not a regression.
I went back as far as Nightly 59.0a1 and it was still reproducible.

problem is no longer reproducible in firefox snap version 111.0.1 on ubuntu 22.04.2 LTS
