User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64; rv:76.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/76.0
Steps to reproduce:
I did nothing. I am just working (with a full screen application) while Thunderbird is open and regularly checks for email in the background.
Actual results:
Sometimes randomly I just see the taskbar button of TB is flashing orange, but there's no new mail, no error message, nothing apparent.
Expected results:
If there's no reason for attention, it should not flash. Or if there is something it wants to tell, it is not apparent, no error message popup or anything.

In the next month you should receive the version 78 update. Let us know if the problem continues

Still does it sometimes.
Sometimes (quite often) I get an error message from the POP3 server (it's crap) when TB tries to fetch mail every 10 minutes, but sometimes not, just flashing in the taskbar and when I switch to TB, there's no error popup. But I think that's why it is flashing, just not showing the error popup.

(In reply to Wayne Mery (:wsmwk) from comment #4)
Please attach a screen shot to the bug report.
Don't think I can anymore. Switched machine and now have W10, and the 91 branch seems to work differently.
Just in case it still happens, what should the screenshot show exactly?

I guess it would be impossible to capture. But if you see it again please update the bug
