Steps to reproduce:
- Youtube view page
- Right click video on right side of page (open in new window)
- Some videos open, others sit and spin (see examples attached of both)
- Some channels do it more, others less. (Maybe a video format issues?)
Actual results:
When you go to the previously "open in new tab" video, some videos work. Some just sit and spin forever.
Expected results:
When you go to the "open in new tab" video, it should show the "thumbnail" and clicking the play should cause it to play.

Jan, I have no such file. I think the reporting system created it or some such. BTW, I'm an old time software engineer. So I might make such a mistake, but probably not.

20200608: Uninstalled firefox. Deleted the mozilla folders in programs86 and program data folders. Reinstalled (as admin). Same problem. HOWEVER, after reinstall it remembered all my history, passwords, etc. so it was not a total reinstall.
After a total reset (MS does not allow uninstall of Edge), Edge still also has the same problem. But it also remembers past settings.

Could you help me provide following information when you encouter this issue?
(1) Is there any error message shown in the web console when issue occurs?
(2) Could you try to use firefox profiler [1] with a preset "media" to capture the profiled result when issue occurs?
(3) Could you provide your information from "about:support" to us?
(4) Is the issue only happening on certain video? or it could happen on all video?
(5) When video is not able to load, does refreshing the page help?

No message, just spinning thing in the video area.

(4) Is the issue only happening on certain video? or it could happen on all video?
It happens on most videos. I am wondering if it is a certain video format that is not working. Some channels no videos work. Some channels most videos work. And everything in between.
(5) When video is not able to load, does refreshing the page help?
No. It just spins.

(2) Could you try to use firefox profiler [1] with a preset "media" to capture the profiled result when issue occurs?
Can you give me the run down on how it works? I don't have time to read all the documentation. I can click the link and get a how to start-stop, but not how to set "media". And how do I find / return the recorded profile when done?

It's pretty easy, you just need to make sure that the setting looks like this image, using Media, then you can press Start Recording and press Capture to stop profiling. Then, it would generate the profiled result, you can simply click publish option on the upper right corner, which can publish this result to the internet and you can share its link directly :)
In addition, I wonder if this issue happen on a fresh "new profile" or on a "private browsing window"?

Would you mind to screenshot what the interface looks like, when you click the profiler icon, which looks like a timer, on the top-right corner?
Because it should be looked like the photo I uploaded in comment12.

OK, here's a bizarre twist. After I profiler, the problem disappeared. I even closed firefox and reopened it, tried opening youtubes from all different options (direct, open in new window, ...) and it works.

Not sure what systems permalink affects, but it changed / reset some video player function.

From the result in comment17, I can't see anything strange, we were keeping decoding and no error occured. Are you able to reproduce this issue on a new profile / private window, or the latest Nightly?

The problem has gone away. The only changes to the computer are auto-updates / pushes from MS, Nvidia, and others I probably never see. Thanks for your time.
