Steps to reproduce:

(This is my first Firefox Bug report - please let me know if I filed this in the wrong place or am otherwise doing something wrong)

I recorded a video (https://vimeo.com/user117373500) and a performance profile (https://share.firefox.dev/2Ye0zui) of this behavior. Note that the video was taken after the profile was captured.

I am using Firefox 78.0b4 (64-bit) Developer Edition on MacOS 10.15.5.

1. Visit the "Top Songs" page for In Flames on Youtube Music: https://music.youtube.com/browse/VLPLpqgxl3FT2_d4GE11slIApIV5E8Jj0Bhi

2. Click on a song to have it start playing in the background

3. Start moving your mouse over the album covers on the left of each row

Actual results:

The play (>) icon ~instantaneously appears over the album cover that you're hovering over

Expected results:

It takes over a second for the play (>) icon to appear after you move the mouse over the album cover

Hi Geoffrey, the Spoiler Protection extension seems to do a lot of image-related work there, can you try to disable it?

I have managed to reproduce the issue based on the provided STR on the latest Nightly (79.0a1/20200625214510), Beta (78.0/20200625152958) and Release (77.0.1/20200602222727) under Windows 10 Pro 64-bit and Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, using Spoiler Protection 2.0 add-on (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/spoiler-protection-2-0/)

With the extension enabled, hovering over the album cover will cause the “play icon” to appear with delay, whereas with the extension disabled, the icon appears almost instantaneously.
