Well,
The «megabar» add a big white rectangle (lot of padding) when the address bar is focused.
Before, going in about:config make the revert possible, and easy even if it wasn't optimal.
Well, why not just add the reskin to the «Customize» page, adding a checkbox or a dropdown at the right of the «Titlebar» and «Drag Space» ckeckbox?
It's 50 lines of CSS.
And that would be easier than telling to:
- create a chrome folder in your profile folder
- put in a userChrome.css the CSS code from: http://userchrome.wesleybranton.com/megabar
- enable toolkit.legacyUserProfileCustomizations.stylesheets in about:config and restart the browser.

Thanks for reporting, we are aware of these concerns, and we're evaluating them with User Experience. Though at this time we don't plan to provide an option to modify the design.
If you have specific functionality concerns, that are not just about the visual extension or subjective taste, please let us know about them more specifically.
In the meanwhile, if you have accessibility issues with UI movements, you can evaluate the prefers-reduced-motion option that, from Firefox 78 on, will remove the input field expansion effect. See https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/CSS/@media/prefers-reduced-motion for additional information.
