In the prefs panel for Calendar, the select box "Date Text Format" contains the
following items:
  Long (ie. Apr 1, 2002)
  Short Format (ie. 04/01/02)

However, these are not the formats used on my system. On my system the example
date would be formattet like "1. april 2002" and "01-04-2002" respectively (in
Win2K, the date formats are specified in Control Panel > Regional Settings).

Also "Short Format" should be changed to "Short" for consistency with "Long"
"Format" is included in the title of the select box and is thus redundant in the
entries.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
The question is whether the calendar should offer these dates formats of should
just grab the settings made in controll panel
Agreed.

This is fixed in CVS, however the long formatted date doesn't show properly in
the menu item if its the initially selected item (it shows up fine in the
menuitem, just not the label for the drop down label)
This works fine for me using 1.1 with no preferences set. It was probably just
caching the old text for me.
