User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:68.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/68.0
Steps to reproduce:
Simply open Firefox, tap the address bar and search something that starts with a search operators like site:google.com or filetype:pdf.
Example: "site:mozilla.org firefox nightly"
Actual results:
"The address wasn't understood [...] The following protocols (site) isn't associated with any program or is not allowed in this context".
Expected results:
The search operator should have been forwarded to the search engine, as it does in Firefox desktop.

https://github.com/mozilla-mobile/fenix/issues/10516 exists for Firefox Preview. This won't be fixed in classic Firefox for Android 68. If you are using any Fenix based Firefox browser such as Firefox for Android Beta, Firefox Preview, Firefox Nightly or Firefox Preview Nightly issues should be reported at https://github.com/mozilla-mobile/fenix/issues/
