User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.15; rv:77.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/77.0

Steps to reproduce:

Thunderbird 77.0b3

  1. Ensure one account (U) exists with default 'End-to-end encryption' settings (i.e. no encryption)
  2. Ensure another account (E) exists with 'Add my digital signature by default'
  3. Select a mailbox from account E
  4. Compose a message (default From: address will be account E)
  5. Change message "From:" to account U
  6. Click send

Actual results:

Gine-Liam Alert error message saying 'Unable to send the message, because there is a problem with your personal key. The key ID '%S' configured...'

Expected results:

Message should have been sent without encryption.

Seems somewhat related to Bug 230420
