1645526 - Amazon top site bug keeps comming up in my top sites links. I use amazon maybe once every other year, it is never visited,not a top site.VERY ANNOYING BUG NEEDS FIXED.

Steps to reproduce:

Open up new window and top site links come up.AMAZON is always listed 1st yet I visit amazon once every other year, This is not a top site,this is an advertiser bug masquerading as a top site. I visit amazon once every other year does not qualify for top site. Does amazon own firefox? Is this a scamazon?

Actual results:

clicked unpin but keeps comming back. not a top site.Does amazon own firefox?

Expected results:

Should go away and stay away,stay unpinned forever.

Amazon is a "sponsored" top-site, and is currently (2022) labeled that way (not sure about 2020, but if not that was a problem and we addressed it). Sponsored top-sites can be turned off through the gear icon in the top-right of the page. They can also be dismissed, and for me, stay that way. If they don't stay away for you perhaps one of your profile databases has become corrupt, in which case a "Firefox Refresh" could help. See our support site, and read the warnings first about what things don't carry over (mainly custom settings and addons, since those are two of the most common causes of Firefox performing badly).

Dao: do we need to keep this bug open? It's either "as intended" that we have sponsored items, or the user has some specific corruption preventing the tile unpinning from working which we are unlikely to get further information about.
