User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/70.0.3538.102 Safari/537.36 Edge/18.18363
Steps to reproduce:
Windows 10 system. version 77.0.1 After an upgrade, several weeks ago Firefox became extremely slow. Now it won't work at all. Literally no pages open. Firefox didn't show up in WIndows list of Programs to uninstall / reinstall. Now Firefox is gone from Task Bar and Start Menu I don't know what's going on with Firefox but at this point I'm giving up and switching to Edge.
Actual results:
I tried reinstalling but it "failed for some reason" according to the error message. Tried again. Same problem. Deleted all Firefox Folders. Rebooted. Reinstall Failed. Edit config.sys removing Firefox entries. Install succeeded but same problem as I was having some time ago now reappears -- no pages will load, now it's gone from the Start menu. I'm currently trying to Uninstall again using the Control Panel but it appears to be hanging at what appears to be 99% completion. What is Mozilla Maintenance Service and should I remove it as well?
Expected results:
I should be able uninstall Firefox completely and reinstall a fresh version and everything should work. Somehow this is not happening and I do not have time to pay with this. Sorry to lose this program. It's almost like someone is sabotaging your program but I can't resolve the problems I've been having over and over again.
Hi Rae,
Thank you for your report.
We'd need to investigate the cause of this issue. Can you please attach a screenshot, screen recording or let us know if you are getting any specific error message?
Please also check if this is reproducible on the latest Firefox Nightly version, you can download it from here: https://nightly.mozilla.org/.
In the meantime I'll add this ticket to the Firefox: Install component.
Regards,
Virginia
