Steps to reproduce:
I used Thunderbird for linux with the exchange server at Vanderbilt University, my workplace.
Actual results:
In latest rounds of security tightening, Thunderbird did not sync "sent mail". I tried the OWL extension, but it required the same security walls (smartphone tough) as accessing email over the outlook website.
Expected results:
Thunderbird should have offered an exchange connectivity option, built in, that works as well as Evolution.
Evolution immediately sync'd sent-mail to outlook. Evolution immediately displayed my outlook calendar. Evolution has many other annoyances, but if there were some way to leverage their open source to round out thunderbird, I'd love to see that happen.
Or, maybe Microsoft will launch outlook for Linux (Their teams implementation quite strong actually).
However it goes, THANK YOU for Thunderbird all these years. I've contributed a few times - but wish you had a rich/sane multi-PC subscription model to make sure all these great ideas stayed properly funded.

It's now possible, with bug 1528136 (and some quirks still)
