Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:77.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/77.0

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Select "Blank Page" in "Homepage and new windows" on about:preferences#home
  2. Close Firefox
  3. Do the following actions quickly (for less than 5-6 seconds):
  1. After several seconds the dialog will be aborted by Firefox. This happens only once after Firefox startup.

Actual results:

Tab modal prompts (alert, confirm, prompt, onbeforeunload) are closed by Firefox if they were opened during several seconds after Firefox startup and blank home page is used. This happens with many web pages that can show tab modal prompts.

Expected results:

Tam modal prompts should not be closed by Firefox.

Forgot to mention that I cannot reproduce this issue in Firefox 76.

Bugbug thinks this bug should belong to this component, but please revert this change in case of error.

Component: Untriaged → New Tab Page

Can anyone take a look at this please?

Well, it looks like the issue is fixed in Firefox 78.
