Details

In the browser, the mail/newsgroups, Mozilla 1.0 and 1.1 will not connect but will give "Connection Refused by xxxx xxx xxx" error message. At any site, any mail server. I am not sure if this is a bug or my system. I am running XP on a toshiba satellite laptop thru a 2-Wire router with hub and a DSL connection. Hope I can get some idea as to whether it's my setup or a real bug. Thanks.
Do you use a proxy ? (and what the the proxy settings in Mozilla) Have you installed in a clean directory ? Have you installed a firewall on your system ?
via mail : ---------------------------------------------------------- I have no proxies that I am aware of. I installed clean, yes. There is a firewall provided by 2-wire (built in to the router) and Microsoft has its own "firewall" or so it says. Mozilla says it should see a direct connection to the internet. ---------------------------------------------------------- Reporter: You must configure the Microsoft XP "want to be a real" firewall that mozilla get access. You get no Problems with IE or Outlook because they can configure the firewall itself to get access. (It's against all firewall rules that applications can configure the firewall and this is the reason why this "firewall" is very bad)

are you using quicklaunch? bug 147019 might be a clue.
via e-mail: Yes, I am using quick-launch and after I loaded Zone Alarm, I have had no problems. Without ZA, it will not work. Can you tell me why that might be?
