I'm not yet sure how/if we want to fix bug 1443355, since some similar functionality is
needed for session-history-in-parent. But at least the interface and the implementation
could be a bit simpler and documented better.

In particular, we may want to use some other object as a "PageDescriptor" with the new session history.
