Affected versions

  • 80.0a1 (2020-07-01)

Affected platforms

  • macOS 10.15.5

Steps to reproduce

  1. Launch Firefox and access https://webrtc.github.io/test-pages/src/audio-and-video/
  2. Allow mic/camera from prompt;
  3. Click on the new WebRTC indicator - mic/camera area a couple of times;

Expected result

  • Site info panel is display/hidden;
  • selector applied on the Site info section from address bar;

Actual result

  • Site info panel is no longer toggled visible/hidden;
  • info panel remains in focus, selected even on other tabs until a refresh/click on action (see attached recording);

Regression range

  • First bad: 2020-06-12
  • Last good: 2020-06-11
  • Pushlog: URL

Additional notes

  • checked with builds prior to this implementation but they did not appear to have the issue manifest;
  • attached recording with the issue, brute forced it a bit since it appears to be a race condition in there;
  • UX-wise users might actually do this out of boredom since it's a new item and might want to try and break it; so the suggested severity is S3.

Probably no longer relevant. Bug 1643027 will change the behavior of the buttons to mute the device instead of opening the panel.
