I'm using Firefox from Fedora Silverblue. My locale is en-GB. Each time a new version of Firefox is installed, a Chambers (UK) search engine is automatically added, and automatically enabled for one-click search.
This has happened after every update since at least Firefox 65. (See https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1305705)
Installing an updated version of Firefox should not re-add a search engine that the user has deleted.

Please can you attach a copy of the about:support page? (Help -> Troubleshooting, click on the copy button).
Also, on the about:support page, please could you look for the profile folder, visit it, then look for the search.json.mozlz4 file and attach a copy here as well - the file only contains details about your search engines and their settings. I'd like to take a look at it to see if there's anything unexpectedly wrong.

I've attached search.json.mozlz4.
I'm not going to attach all of the details from about:support, because it has far too much detail about my computer.
But the extensions list does include:
Name: Chambers (UK)
Version: 1.0
Enabled: true
ID: chambers-en-GB@search.mozilla.org
…and all of the other default search engines that I thought I had deleted, all listed as enabled. For example:
Name: Google
Version: 1.0
Enabled: true
ID: google@search.mozilla.org
Only Chambers (UK) reappears after every update.

Its expected that they are in about:support, they are built in to firefox so deleting them is just hiding them, however they shouldnt be automatically reenabled if you have previously disabled them.
Setting as S3 for now, but maybe an S2 if its a wider problem

I've just done a few investigations and test installed Fedora Silverblue. It appears it is using language packs (effectively add-ons) to provide the different languages.
There's a known issue with language packs that we are currently working where one of the side effects is that the locale is temporarily lost after update - this causes application provided engines to re-appear.
I'm therefore marking this as a duplicate of bug 1628405 which is one of the bugs where we're tracking that work.
