I am using Mozilla 1.1:

     Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X; en-US; rv:1.1) Gecko/20020826) 

I am using the following theme:

     Orbit 3+1 1.x 0.0.6

I have downloaded several files...a few from Apple.com and a few from Version
Tracker.  I had my Download preferences set to show the Download Manager while
downloading.  When the download begins, the download manager opens, but the
download is not shown in the list.  The download does finish successfully, but
it is never added to the Download Manager.

I also changed my download preferences to show a progress dialog.  The progress
dialog shows up and works fine, but the file is still not added to the Download
Manager.  

I then tried changing my download preferences to not show anything while
downloading.  Still no file is added to the download manager.

Chad, please have a look at that bug 155429, comment 0 and see if that's what's
happening to you.
I'm not sure if this is the same bug as 155429.  I have been affected by this
bug using both Mac OS 10.1.5 and Mac OS 10.2.  I have not found that the bug
depends on the length of the filename.  None of my downloads have shown up in
the download manager.  

I have also tried downloading with the download manager opened and with it
closed.  It doesn't seem to make a difference.  

Also bug 155429 reports that the entry in the download manager is invisible, but
it can be selected.  I am not able to select anything in the download manager.

Bug 155429 also states that if you use cmd+s then the entry shows up in the
download manager.  I have tried this and still nothing shows up in the download
manager.

This may help in tracking down this but...I downloaded and installed Netscape
7.0.  When I opened the Download Manager in Netscape, it listed all of the files
that I had downloaded in Mozilla.  It seems that the bug is in displaying the
downloads, but the downloads are recorded properly.
Chad, be sure you're not using the same profile in Netscape and Mozilla. That
isn't supported, and often breaks.
I had the problem with Mozilla before downloading Netscape.  I threw away the
profile and started fresh, and am still having the same problem...I'm in OS 10.2
now.
