Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC; en-US; rv:1.0.0) Gecko/20020529
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC; en-US; rv:1.0.0) Gecko/20020529
When I start up my machine, if I launch Mozila before my File Sharing has
completely turned on (if the folder icon in my control strip is still flashing
between a regular folder and networked folder), about 10 seconds after launching
Mozilla it quits "unexpectedly" with an "error type 3", then the File Sharing
extension quits with an "error type 29", and then the machine freezes completely.
This happens consistently. If I (remember to) wait until File Sharing has
completely started up, I don't have the problem.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Turn File Sharing on
2.Reboot the machine
3.As soon as the the machine is fully booted, but before File Sharing is
completely on (File Sharing icon in Control Strip will flash until it's fully
turned on) launch Mozilla
Actual Results:
Mozilla quits 8-10 seconds after launch with an error type 3, then the File
Sharing Extension quits with an error type 29, and then the machine freezes
completely.
Expected Results:
It seems to me that you shouldn't have to wait for file sharing to turn on
before launching Mozilla; I don't recall I have ever had this problem with other
browsers, including Netscape.
WorksForMe using Mac/2002082503/9.2.2. I turn on file sharing and launch Mozilla while
sharing is starting up, and nothing quits. Ali, does Mozilla ever generate a Talkback report after
unexpectedly quitting? What does Mozilla do when it launches, load a URL? Load MailNews?

Actually, I removed Talkback because my machine was crashing and I thought it
was caused by Talkback starting up (since the crash always seemed to occur
shortly after Talkback launched.) Now I think I was mistaken and it's got
something to do with File Sharing.
I just tried it again. Here are my exact steps:
1) Rebooted
2) Logged into my server space on ASIP server (login is set to come up at startup)
3) Logged into MeetingMaker (also an "On startup" thing)
**steps 2 and 3 don't seem to be related to the problem -- I have skipped both
steps before but Mozilla still crashes shortly after launch if File Sharing is
still starting up.
4) Launch Mozilla; browser opens up to excite.com, I go to google.com, then back
to excite and just as I am about to click on one of the news stories..
5) *Ding* -- Yellow system note: Finder needs your attention..
6) I can't click back to Finder because the machine seems to have frozen, so I
do a force quit and it force-quits me out of Epson Launcher (!?)
7) I now click on the desktop and have a Finder message that the File Sharing
Extension quit with an error type 29
8) The File Sharing icon in my control strip continues to flash so I attempt to
open the File Sharing control panel to stop it, but then the whole system
freezes and I have to reboot.
Maybe it's a conflict between File Sharing, Epson Launcher and Mozilla..? This
doesn't happen if I open any other program while File Sharing is starting up
(IE, Netscape, Appleworks, etc..) and it doesn't happen if I open Mozilla after
File Sharing has completely started, so there's gotta be something there (if
only on my machine..?!)
Mozilla CFM build is dead.
