The Release Notes "Installation" section says "Install into a new empty directory. Installing on top of previously installed builds may cause problems." For users who aren't clued in to how Mozilla is structured, this can cause confusion. Users who are uninstalling (before installing a new version) probably *don't* want to remove their profile information... but users who are completely removing Mozilla probably *do* want to remove their profile. More confusing, the Release Notes section on "Uninstalling" seems to do different things on different OSes. For Linux, the instructions tell users to remove both their Mozilla directory and their ~/.mozilla directory; this removes both the binaries and the profile, true? But, the instructions for Windows say that the user should go to "Add/Remove Programs"; doing this does *not* remove the profile, true? I haven't looked at the Mac info, and there's no info for other OSes (like OpenVMS). I'd suggest dividing the uninstall directions into two parts. The first part should explain how to uninstall the binaries -- in preparation for a new installation. The second part should explain how to remove the profiles -- if the user wants to "start clean" or wants to completely remove Mozilla.
