need a list of top sites that generate popups for testing the mozilla pop up
blocking feature. ... post 'em here.
netscape.com :-p
Netscape Radio doesn't work if you disable popups. Go to www.netscape.com and
click on the radio icon in the top right corner.

Enable/disable from popup preference UI works fine.
I use http://www.iowrestling.com/ as my popup blocking test. Ever page on the
site will usually create two popups for me.
I think Nisheeth is referring to
http://bugscape.netscape.com/show_bug.cgi?id=15425 regarding radio not working.
CNN.com's movie links don't work when popup blocking is enabled.
see bug 17885
NYTimes.com
DER SPIEGEL (http://www.spiegel.de), one of Germany's most popular magazines,
has problems too.

Their premium pay-as-you-go content typically opens a Firstgate
(http://www.firstgate.de/) popup for account sign-in. The popup never comes up
and premium content cannot be viewed.
another test link: carsdirect.com

http://www.carsdirect.com/build/options?zipcode=94301&acode=USB30VWC051A0&restore=false

Try clicking on any optional package/feature; these should open a popup with
detailed info.

Was this bug created to make a list of sites or, to report popup problems on
sites, or both?

Both! Sez me.
Here's a problem reported in bug 232115:
1. http://www.city.toronto.on.ca/torontomaps/
2. click on "go directly to Toronto maps"
3. in the "No. and Street Name" field, type in: 65 Grand Marshall Drive
and then click the "GO" button
4. a map will show up. in the row of buttons just above the map,
   click the print icon.
5. a small form appears below the map. click the submit button.

The site attempts to open a new window containing a printer friendly version of
the map, and that window is blocked by the popup blocker.

It's a very complex site but I'm quite certain the problem is this: in response
to a form submission Mozilla begins a page load. This server resends the
original contents so the submitting window will appear unchanged, but with some
extra script that, while the page is (re)loading, opens a separate window with a
printer-friendly version of the map. Very nice, but not popup-blocker friendly.

I say the blocker is working as expected. The page load in response to a form
submission is little different from the page load in response to a clicked link.
A window opened during page load in the latter case is the very definition of a
popup window. Is the former different? Sure, a little. But in my opinion this is
what the whitelist is for. Now we have a record of the issue.

I found following annoying popup (or is it a popover?) where a part of the page
is overlayed by an ad:
http://www.tek-tips.com/gviewthread.cfm/pid/949/qid/782396

At first sight, it doesn't seem to be the flash or frame issue.

FireFox 0.8, Win2k, Tabbrowser Extensions, Things They Left Out, LiveHTTPHeader,
Language Menu, User Agent Switcher
Misc. threads at www.sitepoint.com.

Main site doesn't seem to open popups, but it happened a couple of times here:

Hm.
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7.6) Gecko/20050225
Firefox/1.0.1

Blocked two popups: opened one popunder ...

The following site generates a popunder with both Firefox and Camino:

http://www.weetwood.co.uk/weetwood.html

Opens a popup in a new tab and focuses
