Steps to reproduce:
I was browsing a page and notice the text at the top was rendered as black boxes. But when I moved my mouse cursor over the boxes, the text reappeared. See video (@ the 0:06s, 0:16s and 0:24s marks).
I can repro 100% on this page: https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=269769 by starting at the top of the page and rapidly pressing the End & Home keys. It takes a few tries but as you can see in the video, it shows up three times.
about:support attached as well.
Actual results:
Black boxes were rendered where text should be (see image).
Expected results:
There should be text, not black boxes.

So here's something weird. I left my (work) machine in sleep mode since last Thursday with FF open and maybe two tabs running. After using it for a bit this morning, I noticed it started to become very sluggish with only FF open. I closed FF and rebooted my machine. FF seems not sluggish anymore and I am not able to repro on the above site.
That being said, I'm going to do a lot of browsing and leave some tabs open tonight and will not return to work until Friday. If there's something like error console you want me to leave running between now and Friday, let me know.
I did think to look at CPU use and measure mem use before I closed FF and rebooted. CPU was using about 34% and memory use was around 748MB.

Arthur, thanks for taking the time to report this issue. Did you experience the slowness again after the reboot? If yes, could you please try to reproduce the issue on the latest Firefox Nightly? You can download it from here: https://nightly.mozilla.org/
If the issue reproduces also on Nightly, could you please try to capture a performance profile using the Cleopatra add-on? You can get more info on how to install and use the Cleopatra add-on (that helps you get the performance profile) by going to:
https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/Performance/Profiling_with_the_Built-in_Profiler
https://perf-html.io/
Please also note that this add-on works only on FF Nightly, so that means you need to be able to reproduce the issue on Nightly first.

Understood. I've now moved to FF 80.0b2 and will beat that version up a little and if it somehow repros, I will switch to nightly and will get Cleopatra installed. If not, I'll just call it a random fluke and close as WFM in a few weeks time.
Ok to leave this bug open in the meantime?
