Due to human error, production BMO was temporarily configured to deliver email to a test file on the web heads instead of sent along to SES as is normal operation. Once the error was discovered and BMO was reconfigured properly, email began to be delivered properly again.
The problem is around 12k emails were not sent. I am creating a script that will take the emails from the mbox test file and queue the emails up to be delivered properly. Main thing is that they will be late and out of order but I figure better to get them late than not at all and someone miss something important.
