User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.1) Gecko/20020826 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.1) Gecko/20020826 I have a folder of mail containging a thread with multiple messages in it. I have the folder sorted by thread ascending. I select the first message in the thread by left-clicking on its subject. I then press Ctrl-Shift-A to select the whole thread but nothing happens. If I use Edit->Select-Thread, the whole thread is selected correctly. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. In a folder with a thread of multiple messages, select any message in the thread 2. Press Ctrl-Shift-A to select the whole thread, but nothing happens Actual Results: Nothing Expected Results: The whole thread should have been selected
Sometimes, another application may steal shortcut keys from Mozilla. Can you close all other applications, including the task bar tray applications, and see if you can still reproduce this problem?
Yes, that was it. I had Trillian in my taskbar which normally uses Ctrl-A for popping up the Trillian window but I had disabled that in the Trillian preferences. It wasn't popping up the Trillian window but once I had closed Trillian, the shortcut in Mozilla worked correctly. I guess it was disabled enough. Sorry for the confusion.
For documentation purpose, do you mind doing some further testing on what other global shortcut keys Trillian steals from the application? So far I know Trillian also steals CTRL+SHIFT+I.

Summary: Ctrl-Shift-A to Select Thread does not work → Ctrl+Shift+A to Select Thread does not work
I believe the other global shortcut (I've deleted it already so this is from memory) that Trillian uses is Ctrl+Alt+C.
Verified.
