Steps to reproduce:

I've been uncomfortable with the new url bar behavior since it started. I finally decided to see if anyone was working to correct it and found that it is intended behavior. Well, it is extremely clumsy to work with. It was pretty clear from the original bug complaining that this is not going to be fixed, but this workaround sort of helps. It turns out that 4 clicks reverts to the original single click behavior without any coding or preference setting. Maybe this will help someone else.

Actual results:

Single click selects entire url.

Expected results:

Single click places cursor. So, I was messing around and found that 4 clicks has the same effect as a single click used to have. This is in the latest nightly, so it will work with the new default. It isn't a great workaround, but it beats clicking once, then waiting an uncertain amount of time to click again. It is much faster. Just click 4 times, and the cursor will be at the point you clicked at with nothing highlighted.
