v 78.1.1 TBird freezes when composing email

Steps to reproduce:
tried to compose an email to multiple people.
Actual results:
TBird freezes after the first 2 or 3 entries. Program not responding, had to close it. Repeated 3 or 4 times.
just upgraded to 78.1.1 from 68. Win10-64, fully updated
Expected results:
continue adding recipients.

Hmmm. Second report now that TB freezes when entering multiple recipients, see bug 1659374.
Does TB also freeze with Help > Restart without Addons?

- How large are your address books?
- Any other details which you can provide, like special characters in recipients etc?

no longer freezes when add-ons disabled, though there is a few seconds lag between tying the addressee name & filling in the email address. TBird froze when exiting the message (w/ add-ons disabled).
I have ~20 address books. Is there an easy way to determine # of addressees? Personal address book appears to have ~500 entries. Another seems to be ~550-600 entries.
On another note, email filtering seems buggy. I have gotten a message saying something like 'xx wasn't filtered, repair folder'. Folders didn't need repair, but I did go in & delete messages older than 2019. This has happened on a few different folders...

That last bit should be fixed by 1658062 in 78.2.0

Click on "All address books" at the top. The number of total contacts is listed at the bottom.
