Steps to reproduce:

I have an HTML page on my local disk with links set as my home page.

Actual results:

Clicking any single link after Firefox startup works as expected. Any time after, clicking any link on the same page does nothing. The cursor still changes to a hand and the URL address appears at the bottom of Firefox, but right or left clicking does nothing.

Expected results:

Links should always work. They did work two days ago and for the previous ten years.

If they worked two days ago, what happened in the meantime? Did you upgrade some software? Did you install some add-ons or extensions?

Ubuntu might have had an update around that time, but I don't think Firefox itself was touched (I don't swear to it, though). I didn't change anything in Firefox. I didn't change anything in Firefox.

After two days of using Opera, I downloaded Firefox 80 in frustration. The issue did not appear in that version.

Hi,
So would you say that updating Firefox to its latest version has fixed this issue?

Thanks in advance, Flor.

Flags: needinfo?(mozilla)

Yes! In fact, Ubuntu updated to v80 last week, so I don't have the old, broken version any longer.

That's awesome. I'm glad this has been fixed. Thanks for reporting the bug and for the following answers. I will close this bug as wfm.

Regards, Flor
