Steps to reproduce:

Thunderbird notified me that in order to update I need to restart Thunderbird.

Actual results:

After restart, three line menu on the right didn't work. The only menu option that worked was Help > About where I could see that Thunderbird was still suggesting that I restart Thunderbrid in order to update to 80.0b2

Expected results:

A successful update

are you using english language version of Thunderbird?

Flags: needinfo?(peacock)

I use the Russian version

Flags: needinfo?(peacock)

Not just a language pack?

I have no idea how to use a language pack. So probably not.

I have just manually updated from 81.0b1 to 81.0b3 and it didn't help.

Updated from 81.0b1 to 81.0b4. Still no good. Three line menu does not open. Any internal page still won't load. Address book works. Layout options are greyed out.

Updated to 82.0a1.en-US. Still broken. I will reset the profile.

I did not do a reset. Updated from 81.0b1 to 82.0b2 with the same old profile and it worked. Even though I cannot find anything remotely related to my problem, the problem has been solved.

*related to my problem in the changelog
