RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 1662757

People

(Reporter: mike.drummond.802, Unassigned)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/84.0.4147.125 Safari/537.36 OPR/70.0.3728.133

Steps to reproduce:

I am trying to compose an email and it is not possible on my system. I am running an HP laptop core i5 1.6 Ghz 4 core machine with 8GB of RAM.

Actual results:

While I have the compose window open I am also looking at my task manager which lists Antimalware Service Executable as operating at 20% CPU. I'm assuming this has Thunderbird flagged as a virus (or somehow maxing a core). This leads to unmanageable keyboard lag and typing that causes headaches that can not be worked around. Seems to be unworkable for me.

Expected results:

I'd imagine you'd need to contact Microsoft (win10 with default antivirus) about getting an exception or more efficiently manage your OS resources. Bummer
