User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.15; rv:81.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/81.0
Steps to reproduce:
Visit play.rust-lang.org (also present in Jenkins, and other sites1 with dark colour schemes) and type into the text editor. I have reproduced this behaviour in safe mode with extensions disabled. I have been experiencing this issue in Firefox 80, on macOS 10.15.
Actual results:
The colours of the text are incorrect. They should be syntax highlighted, and because of the dark colour scheme, the text is hard to read against the background. With a light colour scheme the text is readable, but is not syntax highlighted. Manipulating the CSS color
property has no effect on the text colour.
Expected results:
The text should be syntax highlighted. The attached image shows Firefox on the left, and Chrome on the right. The text is syntax highlighted in Chrome, but not in Firefox.

No problem. The issue is not obvious at all.
