Steps to reproduce:

After using Thunderbird for a few minutes, I try to quit the application by going to the "Thunderbird" menu and selecting "Quit Thunderbird" or "About Thunderbird"

Actual results:

Nothing happens at all.

Expected results:

Thunderbird should quit or open the "About Thunderbird" dialog when it is selected from the Thunderbird menu.

To get it to quit, I right-click on the dock icon and select quit from there -- and it nicely obeys.

1. Launch Thunderbird
   2 . Close Thunderbird with the top-left red close button or from File -> Close menu item (app is still loaded but the main window is hidden)
2. Select "About Thunderbird", "Preferences", or "Quit Thunderbird" from the main Thunderbird application menu
3. These menu items do not work

This problem only occurs on Mac and only if Thunderbird is closed with the red button or from the File -> Close menu item.

Quitting the app is only possible from the context menu in the Dock.

I can verify this is the case indeed. The menu items work fine until you close the window once using the red "close" button.

I did search for this bug before creating my own bug report but did not find it under "macOS." I wonder if you could edit and update this bug's details to make it easier to find? Details are:

This seems to be fixed now in TB 78.3.2. Did something get changed that would fix it?

Possibly bug 1650925 as that seems to have had strange side effects.

Can others confirm it's resolved?
