Since upgrading TB to 78.3 it hangs and eventually crashes when I close it.
After removing the master password and closing using force quite one more time, this issue is not present on subsequent open & close tests.

macOS 10.14.6
TB 78.3.0 & 78.3.1

Do you have calendars?

Yes, several.

Which way do you close it? Does the way matter?

I tested again and no, it doesn't. I usually close via Cmd + Q, but the issue also appears when closing via the menu Thunderbird > Quit Thunderbird. I just then let it crash and send the report of, if that helps at all!?
And, as mentioned, it only happens when a MP was set when opening TB.

I had this behaviour too with Win OS 64-bit. I believe it was at least with v82.0b2 64-bit (german language). Also ONLY if Master Password was set! I had to deinstall TB because this ... sad but true.

Albert does it reproduce in version 78 with steps from bug 1559448 comment 26 ?

  1. Start TB (Masterpassword enabled)
  2. Check for mails (IMAP) or wait some time less than a minute without doing something.
  3. Close TB
    Crash.

Nope. Closes quick and smooth as butter without any issue.

That is with TB 78.10.0 & macOS 11.2.3
