Account Services won't allow editing; only says "account already exists"

Steps to reproduce:
Open Account Settings (on any of the created accounts)
Click on Server Settings (also happens when clicking on Copies & Folders, Composition, Junk, Return Receipts, etc.)
Actual results:
Message says "An account with this name already exists. Please enter a different account name."
Expected results:
Window should have opened and allowed editing.

Similar Problem with 78.3.1 under Linux.
I actually do have two accounts with the same name, however, as soon as I go to the Account Settings, Thunderbird freezes so I can never change the name of either account, nor can I ever change any settings.
Very serious problem! I cannot use Thunderbird right now, as I cannot correct my account settings.
