User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.1) Gecko/20020826 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.1) Gecko/20020826 I have just done some experimenting in printing the above page. It won't work in mozilla and netscape at all. I have changed the settings to print direct to printer and that doesn't help the page print either. I did manage to print out the page: http://www.squarefree.com/bookmarklets/webdevel.html with both the setting for 'direct to printer' and set to spool. This also occurs in Netscape 7 and filed an error with them as well. All that occurs when trying to print the page from O'Reilly above is that hpoeng07.exe takes up all the available CPU processes/time. I am using a HP psc 750. I have had no problem printing from email, which is the only other compenent checked. It seems that as it prints static html pages at least the one in the above text, that it may not be able to print pages which are created from php or have links to image with ?id=6 kind of extensions to them. I am not sure, though it looks to point in that kind of direction. I just tried printing the mozillazine front page (and http://www.mozilla.org/start/1.0/) as well and this does not print. The printer starts making the noise as if it is going to feed paper in, but it never does. Nothing crashes, or stops working. I just have to kill the process for hpoeng07.exe to be able to clear CPU usage and free the printer. Other browsers are able to print these pages. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. goto any of the pages 2. try and print 3. printing doesn't work 4. leaves hpoeng07.exe using up all free cpu resources Actual Results: The Page didnt print at all Expected Results: Printed out the page.
worksforme using 8/23 commercial netscape build on Win 98. I get the whole page printed out.
Just tried printing the page at http://www.oreillynet.com/lpt/a/275 out again. It still didnt print, and left hpoeng07.exe using 100%CPU. I had uninstalled netscape 7 and the drivers and re-installed (with new profile) them both, and still no luck. It just doesn't want to print.
Prints for me on Win2k
I have just tried again. I have just uninstalled the psc 750 drivers, reinstalled them, reinstalled netscape and mozilla and tried printing the page http://www.oreillynet.com/lpt/a/275 again and again using different settings for printer. Have closed down all other programs and still it won't print. hpoeng07.exe still ends up using as much processor as is possible. I can print from netscape/mozilla email, both html and text, but it won't print from the browser. I can print using any other program I have installed. I tried printing direct, adding a new port, changing the port settings, tried setting to print as the datatype NT EMF 1.008 (as it shows in the document properties when it is in the queue), tried spooling both print after last page, and print at as it begins spooling. Nothing has worked. Has anyone got any other ideas as to what to try? So i can print from mozilla/netscape to the hp psc 750.
still broken? what's the printer model?
